Much of the work of the Academy is overseen by committees of Fellows and other experts who come together on a voluntary basis to oversee and advise on nomination and election processes, grants and awards, policy and advocacy activities and the Academy’s international engagements. Nine of these committee are Standing Committees and, per the Academy’s constitution, their Chairs are elected members of the Board.
These Standing Committees are:
- Finance Committee (Chaired by the Treasurer)
- International Committee (Chaired by the International Secretary)
- Policy Committee
- Grants & Awards Committee
- Education Committee
- Panel Committees (x 4)
- Membership Committee (Chaired by the President)
The Academy also convenes a number of Working Groups, Steering Committees and Advisory Committees to guide and advise on specific projects and initiatives. Included in these groups is the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, chaired by the President, and including both Fellows and staff, per the commitments of the Academy’s Innovate RAP.
