The Laws of War: How we got here, and where now?

At a time of increasing conflict, the laws of international war have never been more important as a restraint on the use of force in armed conflict.  Because of this, we’re giving you the opportunity to talk directly to our Tasmanian experts on humanitarian and international law.

Have you been watching the news and thinking “how can this be happening in the 21st Century”, or “how can they get away with this”?

We have.

Join Dr Matt Killingsworth, Dr David Midson and Regina Weiss as they introduce you to the core aspects of the laws of war, and invite you to discuss whether they remain fit for purpose in the 21st century.

This public forum is hosted by the Devonport Library and is a collaboration between the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Red Cross.

Space is limited, register early to avoid disappointment.
