Professor Glyn Davis is Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Melbourne. He is past Chair of Universities Australia and past Chair of the Group of Eight, representing Australia’s leading research universities. His Board experience includes the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Southbank Corporation, the Queensland and Melbourne Theatre companies and the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Professor Davis was previously Director-General of the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet and Vice-Chancellor of Griffith University. He holds first class honours in political science from the University of New South Wales and a doctorate from the Australian National University. He taught public policy for many years at Griffith University and worked as a Harkness Fellow in the United States and delivered the 2010 Boyer lectures, The Republic of Learning: Higher Education Transforms Australia.

Professor Davis is a Companion of the Order of Australia and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia.
