Louise Edwards, is Emeritus Professor in the School of Humanities and Languages at UNSW Australia. She served as President of the Asian Studies Association of Australia (2015-2017) and is currently Senior Advisor to Asialink at the University of Melbourne, Chair of the Advisory Board of the ANU's Centre for China in the World, Honorary Professor at UTS Australia China Research Institute and The University of Hong Kong's School of Modern Languages and Cultures. She has served as Director of the China Research Centre at UTS and Convenor of the ARC Asia Pacific Futures Research Network. She specialises in history, politics, and gender in China. She is currently working on gendered cultures of war in China during the twentieth century.
