Dr Martin Parkinson AC, PSM is the Chancellor of Macquarie University, a Director of Worley and the Male Champions of Change Institute. He was the Secretary of the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet from January 2016 till August 2019.

Dr Parkinson has previously held the position of Secretary of the Australian Treasury, the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency and was the inaugural Secretary of the Department of Climate Change.

As Secretary of PM&C, Dr Parkinson was chief adviser to the PM and the Cabinet and leader of the 155, 719 (June 2016) staff of the Australian Public Service. He led a staff of over 2000 in PM&C with direct responsibility for advising the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, Portfolio Ministers, Assistant Ministers, and the Government as a whole and ensuring government decisions are implemented.
