This workshop brought together researchers, community groups, and lawyers to tackle harmful digital marketing in industries like alcohol, gambling, and unhealthy food. The focus was on using public interest litigation to make digital marketing more transparent and accountable. Discussions covered the effectiveness of litigation, the role of the ACCC, class actions by affected consumers and current cases against harmful crypto marketing. Participants shared the latest research and examined the challenges in proving these cases, aiming to drive better regulatory and policy action.
