Indigenous leader, constitutional lawyer and Academy Fellow Scientia Professor Megan Davis AC FASSA FAHA FAAL has been recognised with one of Australia’s top honours as a Companion of the Order of Australia.
Professor Davis, Pro-Vice Chancellor Indigenous at the University of New South Wales was recognised for her eminent service to the law and to social justice, to the national and international advocacy of the rights of Indigenous peoples, and to the community. She was elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in 2017.
Also recognised in this January’s honours was Professor Sharon Naismith AM FASSA Leonard P Ullmann Chair in Psychology at the University at Sydney. Professor Naismith was made a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of her significant service to neuropsychology, particularly dementia, through medical research and clinical practice. She was elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia in 2023.
