Fellows recognised in King's Birthday honours

Academy Fellows recognised in 2024 King’s Birthday Honours

Three Fellows of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia have been recognised for their contributions to academic leadership, the social sciences, research and education in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours list.

Members of the Order of Australia 

  • Professor Emerita Heather Goodall AM FASSA FRSN from the University of Technology, Sydney, recognised for her significant service to tertiary education, social science, and to the Indigenous community.
  • Professor Ron Weber AM FASSA from the Monash University. Recognised for significant service to tertiary education, to accounting and information system development, and to professional associations.

Medal of the Order of Australia 

  • Professor Anne Kavanagh OAM FASSA from the University of Melbourne. Recognised for her service to medicine, particularly disability health research.

The Academy congratulates these Fellows and all other Australians recognised for their contributions under the Order of Australia.
