Robert Holton is Emeritus Professor of the Department of Sociology, Trinity College, Dublin, and Adjunct Professor of Sociology in the Hawke Research Institute at the University of South Australia. Robert is continuing his research into globalisation. His recent research includes analyses of:

  • global networks
  • cosmopolitanism
  • global finance
  • global inequality

Professor Holton has recently completed a major sociological study of global inequality

He has also co-edited, with Professor Bryan Turner, a second revised edition of the Routledge International Handbook of Globalization Studies

He also continues his editorship of the successful monographic series with Ashgate (now Talor and Frncis) entitled, Global Connections.

He is also currently working on a critical assessment of the socio-economc impacts of robotics and information technology
