John King retired in 2013 as Professor of Economics at La Trobe University, where he is now Emeritus Professor; he is also Honorary Professor at Federation University Australia. He specialises in the history of economic thought, with particular interests in post-Keynesian theory, Marxian economics and the economics of socialism. He is currently working on a book on THE ALTERNATIVE AUSTRIAN ECONOMICS, dealing with socialist economists in Austria since 1900.

Recent publications include ADVANCED INTRODUCTION TO POST KEYENSIAN ECONOMICS (2015) and A HISTORY OF AMERICAN ECONOMIC THOUGHT (with S. Barbour and J. Cicarelli) (2018)
