Professor Kathleen Daly is Professor of Criminology, School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, Griffith University. Professor Daly's areas of expertise are criminology, criminal justice, and social inequalities. Specifically, her interests lie in applications of feminist, critical race, and sociological theories to criminology, crime, and criminal justice; the contested politics of justice; and empirical studies of crime, courts, and innovative court practices (e.g., restorative justice and Indigenous justice) from the perspectives of victims, offenders, legal officials, professional workers, and community people. She is currently directing a global study of innovative responses to sexual violence in the developed and developing world. She is President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology (2005-2009).
