Marcus Taft is a Professor in the School of Psychology, University of NSW.
He is primarily interested in cognitive mechanisms involved in reading, with a focus on differences between good and poor adult readers, as well as differences between languages. He also has a research interest in bilingual language processing, particularly bilinguals who are born and raised in their second language environment. Professor Taft is currently pursuing implications of his model of adult reading for reading acquisition in children.
