Professor Patricia Noller is former Director of the University of Queensland Family Centre. She specialises in research into marital and family relationships and communication. She is Past President of the International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships (1998-2000).

Her recent research has focused on:

• sibling relationships and parental favouritism
• marital and parent-child conflict in families with adolescents
• the transition to parenthood from an attachment perspective
• sibling relationships during the separation/divorce of the parents
• comparison and competition in sibling relationships.
