Four Academy Fellows have been recognised for their contributions to research and education in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Officer of the Order of Australia
- Professor Peter Saunders AO FASSA from the University of NSW, and former member of the Academy’s Executive Committee. Recognised for distinguished service to tertiary education, particularly through social policy research and development.
Members of the Order of Australia
- Professor Joy Damousi AM FASSAFAHA from the Australian Catholic University. Former President of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and ACOLA. Recognised for significant service to social sciences and the humanities, to history, and to tertiary education.
- Professor Emerta Deborah Brennan AM FASSA from the University of NSW, for significant service to social policy research, to gender equality, and to tertiary education.
Medal of the Order of Australia
- Emeritus Professor William Rubinstein OAM FASSA from Edith Cowan University, for services to tertiary education and to Jewish history.
